2017 BURSARY FOR POSTGRADUATE RESEARCH RELATED TO OPERATIONAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATED WITH HIV/AIDS AND TB

 

SUCCEED is offering grants for Masters and PhD students conducting operational research in sites where the SUCCEED project is being implemented. Operational research is about research into strategy, interventions, tools and knowledge that can enhance the quality, coverage and effectiveness or performance of health systems and programmes in which the research is being conducted.

POSTGRADAUTE BURSARIES

Applicants meeting the following criteria are welcome to apply

· South African citizens, or

· Students from other African countries,

· Accepted for a relevant Master’s or PhD degree at a South African University and conducting operational research,

· In the first or second year of study,

· Must have full registration.

The following criteria will be taken into consideration during the selection process

· Applicants working with or from districts where SUCCEED is being implemented.

· Applicants conducting operational research – focus on operational research related to TB, HIV and related conditions will be an advantage.

· Academic merit of application.

· Must be registered with a South African University

Value of bursary

· Maximum of R50000.

· Funds may be used for student fees, related software, books, research assistance, conference attendance related to the project, dissemination activities and other expenses approved by SUCCEED.

· Please note all equipment purchased using bursary funds will become an asset of Stellenbosch University and will have to be returned on completion of the project.

·        Research project proposal (2-3 pages).
